Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about sourcing authenticated luxury with Clutch, from how the process works to authentication, pricing, and international delivery.

What is Clutch?

Clutch is a private luxury sourcing concierge based in Dubai. Rather than a traditional storefront, Clutch sources authenticated luxury pieces, including handbags, watches, fine jewellery, and rare accessories, by private enquiry for clients across the UAE and internationally. Clutch has sourced privately for clients in Dubai since 2017, and built its current online store more recently to serve the GCC, Africa and beyond.

How does Clutch's sourcing service work?

You tell Clutch what you are looking for, either a specific piece or a general request, and the team sources a small number of matching options personally, rather than at volume. Clutch then shares availability, condition details, and pricing privately. There is no upfront payment, and you commit only once you have reviewed the piece. You can read the full process on our How It Works page.

Is Clutch affiliated with the luxury brands it sources?

No. Clutch is an independent sourcing service and is not affiliated with, authorised by, or endorsed by any luxury brand. All brand names are used only to describe the pieces being sourced or offered for private enquiry. Every item is independently authenticated.

What brands and items can Clutch source?

Clutch sources across leading luxury houses, including Hermès, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Rolex, and Patek Philippe, among others. Categories include handbags, footwear, accessories, fine jewellery, and watches. You can browse current pieces in the catalogue.

Can you source a specific item that is not listed on the website?

Yes. Most of Clutch's work is sourcing specific pieces on request, including items that are rarely listed publicly. Share the brand, model, colour, size, and any other details, and Clutch will check availability across its network.

Are the pieces new or pre-owned?

Clutch sources both new and pre-owned pieces to order. Condition is documented and confirmed for the specific piece, with photos and notes, before anything is confirmed.

How does Clutch authenticate items?

Every piece is reviewed through Legit Grails, an independent authentication service, before any purchase is confirmed. Condition is documented, and an authentication certificate accompanies the item.

Why are prices shown as Price on request?

Luxury sourcing prices vary by piece, condition, and current market availability, so Clutch confirms pricing privately at the time of enquiry. This keeps every quote accurate and tailored to the specific item.

Do I have to pay anything to make an enquiry?

No. Enquiring is free and carries no obligation. You commit only once you have reviewed the piece, its condition, and the terms.

How is payment handled?

Once you confirm a piece, Clutch shares clear next steps for secure payment. Payment is arranged privately and only after you have reviewed and approved the item.

Do you deliver outside the UAE?

Yes. Clutch arranges delivery within the UAE and internationally. Delivery details are confirmed privately at the time of enquiry.

How long does sourcing take?

Timelines depend on the piece and its availability. Some items can be confirmed quickly, while rarer pieces may take longer. Clutch shares a realistic timeline once it reviews your request.

Is the process private and discreet?

Yes. Every enquiry is handled discreetly. Your details are never shared, and there is no obligation at any stage.

How do I start an enquiry?

You can start a private enquiry through the website or by WhatsApp. Tell Clutch what you are looking for and the team will respond privately with options and next steps. Visit the contact page to begin.

How do I know a luxury concierge in Dubai is trustworthy?

Look for independent, third-party authentication rather than a self-graded guarantee, a real physical address, and a track record you can verify. Clutch has sourced privately in Dubai since 2017, has authenticated more than 5,000 individual pieces, and has every piece independently reviewed through Legit Grails before any purchase is confirmed, not graded in-house. Read more on our Authentication page.

Does Clutch provide a certificate of authenticity?

Yes. Every piece Clutch sources is reviewed through Legit Grails, an independent authentication service, and the outcome is shared directly with you along with a certificate or record where one is provided. The full four-step process is documented on our Authentication page.

How can I verify a luxury concierge's reputation?

Check whether authentication is carried out by an independent third party rather than the seller itself, ask for full documentation and condition notes before committing, and confirm there is no payment required to enquire. Clutch's process, sourcing history, and Legit Grails partnership are documented on our Authentication and How It Works pages.

What is a Hermès Birkin?

The Hermès Birkin is a structured, top-handle leather handbag, first created by Hermès in 1984 and named for actress and singer Jane Birkin. It is made to order in Hermès workshops, produced in limited numbers each year, and has become one of the most recognised and sought-after handbags in the world.

What is the difference between a Birkin and a Kelly bag?

The Birkin has two rolled top handles and no flap closure, while the Kelly has a single top handle, a structured triangular silhouette, and a front strap that folds over the flap. Both are made by Hermès in the same leathers and hardware finishes, but the Kelly predates the Birkin by several decades and carries a slightly more formal, structured line.

Why are Birkin bags so expensive?

Each Birkin is made to order by a single artisan in an Hermès workshop, using leathers and hardware Hermès sources and finishes itself, with production intentionally limited each year. That scarcity, combined with the hand craftsmanship and the bag's resale demand, keeps both retail and resale prices high relative to most other handbags.

Is a Birkin bag a good investment?

Birkins are widely reported to hold or exceed their original price on the resale market, more consistently than most luxury handbags, largely because of limited production and sustained demand. This is a general market pattern, not financial advice or a guarantee for any individual piece, and condition, size, leather, and colour all affect resale value.

What sizes does the Hermès Birkin come in?

The Birkin is most commonly made in 25, 30, 35, and 40 centimetre sizes, measured across the base of the bag, with smaller and larger sizes produced less frequently. The 25 and 30 are generally worn as everyday bags, while the 35 and 40 sit closer to a structured tote. Browse current sizes in the catalogue.

What is a Hermès Oran sandal?

The Oran is Hermès's single-strap leather slide sandal, built around a wide H-cutout strap across the instep on a flat sole. It was introduced in the 1990s and remains one of Hermès's most recognised footwear silhouettes, produced each season in a wide range of leathers and colourways.

What is a Hermès Chypre sandal?

The Chypre is Hermès's two-strap flat sandal, with a wider instep strap and a slimmer ankle strap, typically made in suede or Epsom leather. It sits alongside the Oran as one of Hermès's core seasonal sandal silhouettes, offered across men's and women's ranges.
